ANCV's Chèque-Vacances is a holiday-support voucher operated by a French public body, legally restricted to domestic French travel and leisure merchants. Whether a merchant based in Korea can accept it remotely is currently uncertain, so this page is written from the perspective of understanding the scheme and confirming eligibility in advance, rather than recommending adoption.
Chèque-Vacances is a public voucher scheme that French employees accumulate through employer and social security contributions to spend on holidays and leisure, and it represents a significant source of spending in French tourism and leisure. However, because it is operated by a public body (ANCV) and merchant eligibility is legally limited by statute to domestic French tourism and leisure businesses, it is highly uncertain whether a structure allowing a Korean merchant located outside France to accept it online can exist at all.
For Korean businesses targeting French travel and leisure demand, we therefore recommend treating Cartes Bancaires, PayPal, and installment payments (Alma, Oney) — which French consumers use universally — as the primary methods, and considering ANCV only as a secondary option once eligibility has actually been confirmed. See the links below for other methods worth reviewing together.
Chèque-Vacances is issued in both paper-voucher and digital (Chèque-Vacances Connect) form, and consumers can only use it with French tourism and leisure businesses that have been approved as ANCV merchants. Whether a Korean merchant can accept it online at all depends first on whether it can meet ANCV's merchant requirements, so this guide does not describe a standard PG integration flow as a given.
Accepting ANCV through Hecto Financial is currently difficult to present as a standard coverage item. Because of the institutional constraint that merchants must be domiciled in France, interested merchants should first confirm through consultation whether adoption is possible at all.
※ This section describes the general support process and does not guarantee actual integration eligibility for any specific merchant. Please confirm exact coverage and fees through consultation.
Since this voucher is restricted to domestic France, first confirm whether remote acceptance by a Korean merchant is even possible
Integration method and priority differ depending on your online sales channel mix — owned storefront, marketplaces, mobile app, and so on
Check in advance whether your product categories fall under ANCV's restricted merchant categories
Confirm compliance with EU payment regulations such as PSD2 and SEPA (see official sources below)
Even assuming ANCV acceptance is eligible, settlement would follow the same structure as other methods: Hecto Financial receives euro (EUR) funds, converts them, and pays out in whichever of USD, KRW, or JPY is selected in the contract. However, because vouchers can carry refund and cancellation rules that differ from ordinary payments, and how the EU's 14-day withdrawal right would be handled also needs separate confirmation, eligibility, settlement, and refund terms should all be negotiated together.
Hecto Financial's team will help you review the right combination of payment methods for the French market.
