Qapaq is known as a savings and microfinance institution (Caja Rural) that has served working-class and small-business finance in Lima and several other regions. It can be considered as a counter cash-payment touchpoint for online orders, but the institution's operating scope and whether a collection partnership actually exists need to be confirmed before contracting.
Even in the greater Lima metro area, there is a broad working-class and self-employed customer base with limited access to banks, and these customers are comfortable with microfinance-institution counters and cash transactions. Although Yape and Plin wallets are changing Peru's payment habits, cash top-ups and withdrawals for wallets are themselves tied to cash touchpoints, so cash-payment options remain a genuinely effective conversion lever in Peru's online spending. Qapaq is an institution that has served this kind of urban working-class financial need.
Merchants with a low average order value and a large share of cash-leaning customers — low-priced household goods, mobile top-ups, small digital products — can consider this as an urban counter-payment channel. It is not a standalone coverage solution, so pair it with a nationwide-network method, and first confirm whether the Qapaq counter actually participates in collection.
Assuming the partnership is in place, payment starts online and finishes at the counter. A reference code is issued at the time of order (online), and once the consumer pays cash at a Qapaq counter, collection confirmation is passed to the merchant and the order is confirmed. Codes unpaid by the deadline are treated as expired.
Integrating through Hecto Financial lets a Korean corporation consider adopting Qapaq payments without a separate local contract in Peru. Actual support availability and terms (settlement cycle, fees, currency options) vary by the merchant's industry and transaction volume, so confirmation with the Hecto Financial sales team before contracting is required.
※ This section describes a general support procedure and does not guarantee actual integration availability for a specific merchant. Please confirm exact support scope and fees through consultation.
Confirm whether contracting is available on the basis of a domestic (Korean) business
The integration method and priority vary depending on your mix of online sales channels — owned store, marketplaces, mobile app, and so on
Confirm in advance whether your category falls under restricted industries in Qapaq's merchant policy
Confirm compliance with Peru's payment and foreign exchange regulations (see official sources below)
The settlement flow can be summed up as 'collected in soles, sent out in one of three currencies.' Hecto Financial collects the payment amount locally in PEN, exchanges it, and pays it out in the contracted currency chosen from USD, KRW, or JPY, so the merchant's ledger records settlement only in the contracted currency. Refund and non-payment rules can be found in the contract documents.
The Hecto Financial team will help you review a payment method mix suited to the Peru market.
