Kiosko is a convenience store chain that has grown across western Mexico, centered on the Guadalajara area of Jalisco state. This guide covers the adoption points for using its stores, located along the daily routes of consumers in this region, as a channel for paying online order amounts in cash.
The Guadalajara area, regarded as Mexico's second-largest metropolitan region, is home to a concentration of IT and startup companies earning it the nickname 'Mexico's Silicon Valley,' and online consumption there is highly active, yet a clear preference for cash payment persists at checkout. Kiosko is a convenience store chain that has expanded its stores across western states such as Jalisco and Colima, and its distinct strength versus nationwide chains is being a payment point located along local consumers' daily commute and school routes.
For gaming, content, and e-commerce merchants targeting young digital consumers in the Guadalajara area, Kiosko payment becomes a regionally optimized option. For services with a confirmed share of customers in the western region, it is effective to present it alongside nationwide convenience store channels as a complement.
A customer who selects Kiosko at the online checkout screen receives a barcode reference code and pays in cash at the checkout of a Kiosko store in the western region. The data is sent as soon as payment is collected, and the order is finalized after Hecto Financial confirms the deposit (typically within the same day to 1 business day). A code past its validity period cannot be used, and the corresponding order automatically expires.
Through Hecto Financial's integration, a Korean company can include the Kiosko payment option in its payment mix without a local contract in Mexico. Since convenience store collection depends on the composition of affiliated chains within the local collection agency network, actual availability, fees, and settlement terms are confirmed through pre-contract discussions.
※ This section describes general support procedures and does not guarantee actual integration availability for any specific merchant. Please consult with us to confirm exact coverage and fees.
Confirm contract eligibility for domestic (Korea-based) businesses
Integration method and priority vary depending on your online sales channel mix, such as owned storefronts, open marketplaces, or mobile apps
Advance confirmation is needed on whether your business falls under a restricted category under Kiosko's merchant policy
Confirmation is needed on compliance with Mexico's payment and foreign exchange regulations (see official sources below)
Cash collected at Kiosko stores is received in MXN, converted by Hecto Financial, and then settled in whichever of USD, KRW, or JPY was selected under contract. The local currency is never paid directly to the merchant, and the settlement cycle is set by contract terms. Refunds are processed through a separate refund procedure rather than at the store.
Hecto Financial's team will work with you to review a payment method mix suited to the Mexican market.
