Billie is a B2B-only BNPL (buy-now-pay-later for corporate purchases) method operated by Germany's Billie GmbH, and it is not a payment method for general consumers (B2C). This guide is for Korean B2B businesses looking to offer deferred-payment terms to corporate customers in Sweden.
Billie is a B2B-only BNPL method that offers deferred, invoice-based payment to buying companies in business-to-business transactions. It is not a method for individual consumers, so it does not apply to B2C storefronts. However, since invoice payment is standard practice in Sweden not only for consumer commerce but also for corporate purchasing, Korean businesses selling office supplies, industrial goods, or SaaS to corporate customers in Sweden can consider it as a way to offer buying companies a 'buy now, pay later' arrangement.
Because purchasing staff can place orders on an invoice basis without needing corporate card limits or complex credit procedures, it lowers the conversion barrier for online B2B sales. If the counterparty is an individual, you should consider B2C invoice methods such as Klarna or Walley instead, even though they belong to the same deferred-payment family; before adoption, confirm the scope of service for corporate customers in Sweden with Hecto Financial.
When a buying company selects Billie at checkout, a real-time assessment of the company's credit is performed, and on approval, the order is confirmed under deferred invoice terms. The buying company pays by the invoice due date, and the risk of non-payment is assumed by Billie; the merchant is paid based on the authorized transaction, and Hecto Financial receives it in SEK.
Integrating through Hecto Financial lets a Korean company explore adopting Billie payments without a separate local contract in Sweden. Whether support is actually available, and the terms (settlement cycle, fees, currency options), vary depending on the merchant's business category and transaction volume, so confirmation with the Hecto Financial sales team is needed before signing a contract.
※ This section describes the general support process and does not guarantee that integration is actually available for any specific merchant. Please confirm the exact scope of support and fees through consultation.
Confirm whether a contract can be signed on the basis of a Korean business registration
The integration method and priorities differ depending on your online sales channel mix, such as your own site, marketplaces, and mobile apps
Check in advance whether your business falls under a category restricted by Billie's merchant policy
Confirm compliance with EU payment regulations such as PSD2 and SEPA (see official sources below)
Even for B2B transactions, the settlement structure is the same. Hecto Financial converts the amount it receives in SEK and settles it to the Korean merchant in whichever of USD, KRW, or JPY was selected under the contract, with the settlement cycle following the contract. Note that the EU's 14-day right of withdrawal is a consumer (B2C) protection scheme and, in principle, does not apply to business-to-business transactions, so B2B return and credit-note terms should be set out separately in a commercial agreement.
The Hecto Financial team will work with you to review the right combination of payment methods for the Swedish market.
