Banco Galicia is one of Argentina's largest private banks, with a history spanning more than a hundred years. This page is for Korean merchants considering this bank's online banking payment channel as a payment option.
Having passed through a high-inflation environment, Argentine consumers now use banking apps as part of daily life, and completing payments directly within online banking is becoming an established flow. Banco Galicia is a large private bank founded in 1905 with a broad retail customer base, so for customers who hold an account with this bank, it offers a way to complete payment on an account basis, without a card.
Given the market's characteristic mix of customers with limited card credit lines or a reluctance to use cards, bank-account-based payment channels carry particular value as a complement for high-value payments or subscription-type service charges. The Galicia channel is especially useful when targeting consumers in the capital region and major cities, where the private bank's customer base runs deep.
When a consumer selects Galicia payment as their method, payment details are generated, and the consumer logs into Banco Galicia's online banking or mobile app to approve and pay the amount. Once bank-side confirmation of processing is passed to Hecto Financial, the order is finalized, and the pesos received are converted before being settled in the contract currency.
Bank payment channel specifications differ from bank to bank, so the exact form the Galicia channel takes (immediate transfer, payment-approval type, etc.) and the time needed for confirmation are worked out during integration design. Please confirm through a Hecto Financial consultation whether the configuration fits your business type.
※ This section describes the general support process and does not guarantee that integration will be possible for any specific merchant. Please confirm the exact scope of support and fees through a consultation.

The integration method and priorities differ depending on your online sales channel mix, such as an owned storefront, open marketplaces, or a mobile app

Confirm compliance with Argentina's payment and foreign exchange regulations (see official sources below)
Amounts a consumer pays in pesos from a Galicia account are received locally by Hecto Financial. Merchant settlement is made by converting these pesos and paying out in whichever of USD, KRW, or JPY was set in the contract; a peso settlement option is not offered. Refunds on bank-account-based transactions are processed as a reverse transfer and can take longer than card refunds, and because conversion terms can be adjusted following changes in Argentina's foreign exchange regulations, confirming them at the time of contracting is essential.
Hecto Financial's team will work with you to review the payment method mix best suited to the Argentine market.
