Lithuania's smartphone market skews heavily toward Android, making it a strong environment to feel the benefit of Google Pay's one-tap checkout with a saved card on mobile web and in apps. Here are the adoption conditions and settlement structure.
The Baltic region, including Lithuania, has a relatively high Android share even within Europe, making Google Pay worth considering as a starting point for mobile payment optimization. Google Pay replaces the card number with a token during transmission, eliminating manual card-detail entry on mobile screens, and device lock or biometric authentication naturally satisfies the PSD2 Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) step. It is also an advantage that Chrome browser integration extends this experience to desktop web payments.
This method is a high priority for merchants where checkout speed drives conversion — low-involvement, repeat-purchase categories like gaming, app services, and household goods — or for businesses with significant Lithuanian traffic arriving through mobile advertising.
When a consumer taps the Google Pay button, selects a saved card, and completes device authentication, authorization proceeds using tokenized card information, with this device authentication also serving as the SCA step. The fund flow after authorization is that Hecto Financial receives the euro (EUR) funds, converts them, and settles them to the Korean merchant in whichever currency — USD, KRW, or JPY — was set under the contract; the merchant does not receive EUR directly.
Integrating through Hecto Financial lets a Korean company explore Google Pay acceptance on the basis of a Korean entity, with requirements differing by applied channel — mobile web, app, desktop, and so on. Since this method presupposes baseline card acceptance, please confirm coverage, fees, and currency options through consultation before signing a contract.

The settlement flow proceeds as follows: the Lithuanian consumer pays in EUR, Hecto Financial receives and converts the funds locally, and the amount is deposited domestically in whichever currency — USD, KRW, or JPY — was chosen under the contract. Google Pay refunds are processed as a reversal of the original card transaction and can be handled using only the token information, and since Lithuanian consumers are also entitled to a 14-day right of withdrawal under EU distance selling rules, this should be reflected in your refund policy.
Hecto Financial's team will work with you to review the right combination of payment methods for the Lithuania market.
