The Czech smartphone market has a high share of Android, so in a card-centered online payment environment, Google Pay forms one pillar of wallet payments alongside Apple Pay. Here are the adoption criteria a Korean merchant should check, Hecto Financial's scope of support, and the settlement structure.
In the now-mature Czech e-commerce market, payments are centered on cards and online banking transfers, and as the share of mobile shopping grows, wallet payments that skip re-entering card details on every purchase are playing a bigger role. The Czech Republic has a relatively high Android share in its smartphone market, so Google Pay — which lets consumers pay in one click with a card registered to their Google account — covers a broader range of users than the iPhone-centered Apple Pay.
It's worth prioritizing for shops with a large share of mobile web and app sales, and for categories such as gaming and digital content where minimizing friction to complete a purchase matters most. It also integrates with the Chrome browser, helping reduce drop-off in desktop web checkout, and adopting it alongside Apple Pay lets you cover most Czech smartphone users with wallet payments.
When a consumer taps the Google Pay button, the card saved to their account is passed on as a token, and the payment is approved once unlocking the device or a biometric check satisfies PSD2's Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirement. Hecto Financial receives the funds in the local currency, converts them, and settles to the Korean merchant in whichever currency — USD, KRW, or JPY — was selected under the contract.
You can consider integrating Google Pay through Hecto Financial on the basis of your Korean corporation, without a local corporation or local contract in the Czech Republic. Detailed terms such as the settlement cycle, fees, and currency options vary by industry and transaction volume, so a prior consultation is recommended.

The integration method and priority vary depending on your online sales channel mix — owned mall, open marketplace, mobile app, and so on

Confirm compliance with EU payment regulations such as PSD2 and SEPA (see official sources below)
From the Korean merchant's perspective, the settlement currency is not Czech koruna but a single currency — USD, KRW, or JPY — chosen under the contract. Funds that the consumer pays in CZK are received and converted by Hecto Financial before being paid out, and the settlement cycle and fee rate follow the contract terms. Refunds are processed to the original tokenized payment card, and since returns and refunds can occur within an EU consumer's 14-day right-of-withdrawal period, it's safer to manage this alongside your settlement schedule.
Hecto Financial's dedicated team will help you review the right combination of payment methods for the Czech market.
