DOKU is a first-generation Indonesian payment company founded in 2007, and DOKU Wallet is its e-wallet service. From the perspective of securing a local PG-based channel distinct from the major super-app wallets, we cover the conditions and settlement structure for integrating it through Hecto Financial.
As Indonesia's online payment market grows, its channels have layered into wallets, virtual accounts, and convenience store cash payment. DOKU is a homegrown Indonesian payment company that has operated a payment gateway since 2007, and DOKU Wallet is the e-wallet it offers in partnership with major local banks and merchant networks. It has a smaller user base than the super-app-affiliated wallets, but it stands out for its broad touchpoints with local payment infrastructure.
It's a good complement for merchants that already support major wallets like GoPay and DANA and want to add one more layer of payment channels, or for businesses that also use DOKU's gateway-based channel. Rather than adopting it on its own, it's more realistic to add it on top of a primary wallet and virtual accounts, so review the priority in the comparison table below.
The shopper pays with their wallet balance or a linked funding source through the DOKU Wallet app or checkout page, and the approval result is delivered to the merchant in real time. Hecto Financial receives the resulting proceeds locally in rupiah, converts the currency, and settles with the merchant in Korea in whichever of USD, KRW, or JPY was selected in the contract. If you also use other DOKU-affiliated channels beyond the wallet, check the technical documentation for details before integrating.
Through Hecto Financial's integration, a business in Korea can explore adopting the DOKU Wallet channel without entering into a separate partnership agreement with DOKU. Coverage, along with the settlement cycle, fees, and currency options, varies by merchant industry and transaction volume, so confirmation through the sales team is required before signing a contract.
※ This section describes the general support process and does not guarantee that integration is available for any specific merchant. Please confirm exact coverage and fees through consultation.
Confirm whether a contract is available for businesses registered in Korea
The integration approach differs depending on whether you sell online only or also operate offline stores in Indonesia
Check in advance whether your products fall under categories restricted by DOKU Wallet's operator's merchant policies
Confirm compliance with Indonesia's payment and foreign exchange regulations (see official sources below)
DOKU Wallet transaction proceeds accumulate in rupiah (IDR), and Hecto Financial receives them locally, converts the currency, and sends the funds to the merchant's account in Korea. The currency paid out is not IDR but rather one of USD, KRW, or JPY as set in the contract. The settlement cycle and fee rate vary by contract terms, and since refunds follow both DOKU's policy and Hecto Financial's operating policy together, confirming the processing timeline in advance is recommended.
Hecto Financial's team will work with you to review the right combination of payment methods for the Indonesian market.
