Alipay is Ant Group's global payment platform, and in Indonesia it functions less as an everyday method for locals and more as a payment channel for Chinese visitors and residents. We've outlined the acceptance terms through Hecto Financial, the Alipay+ linkage perspective, and the settlement structure.
As Indonesian e-commerce grows into the largest market in Southeast Asia, spending by Chinese tourists and residents centered around Bali and Jakarta has also remained steady. Alipay, operated by Ant Group, is China's leading payment platform with more than a billion users, and it supports payments at overseas merchants through cross-border programs and linkage with Alipay+ partner wallets. The fact that DANA, a local Indonesian wallet, is a partner backed by Ant Group investment is another point of contact the Alipay ecosystem has in this market.
For online travel, duty-free, and hospitality-linked services whose main customers are Chinese tourists, international students, and expatriates in Indonesia, accepting Alipay offers real practical value. If local consumers are your main customer base, however, local wallets like GoPay and DANA and virtual accounts should take priority—decide based on your customer mix.
The consumer pays using the Alipay app, either by scanning a QR code at checkout or completing in-app authentication for online payments, drawing on whichever balance, account, or card is registered in the app. Hecto Financial receives the resulting transaction funds locally in Indonesian rupiah, converts them, and settles to the Korean merchant in whichever currency—USD, KRW, or JPY—was selected under contract. The detailed flow for transactions routed through Alipay+ partner wallets should be confirmed through technical documentation.
Without a direct merchant contract with Ant or a local entity in Indonesia, Alipay acceptance can be reviewed on the basis of a Korean corporate entity through Hecto Financial integration. Because industry restrictions may apply under Alipay's merchant policy, confirm detailed terms including your product category and transaction volume with the sales team before contracting.
※ This section describes the general support process and does not guarantee actual integration eligibility for a specific merchant. Please confirm exact coverage and fees through consultation.
Confirm contract eligibility as a Korea-registered business
The integration approach differs depending on whether you sell online only or also operate offline stores in Indonesia
Advance confirmation is needed to check whether your category falls under Alipay's restricted merchant categories
Confirm compliance with Indonesia's payment and foreign exchange regulations (see official sources below)
Regardless of which wallet the consumer used to pay, the Korean merchant's settlement currency is one of USD, KRW, or JPY selected under contract. Payment funds generated in Indonesia are received by Hecto Financial in the local currency (IDR), converted, and paid out in the contracted currency, with the settlement cycle and fee rate varying by contract terms. Refunds are subject to both Alipay's policy and Hecto Financial's operating policy, so confirm processing deadlines in advance.
The Hecto Financial team will work with you to review the right combination of payment methods for the Indonesian market.
